Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why a snake character?
The snake is a friendly anthropomorphic character who needs the child's help to learn to read. This pro-social approach builds confidence and engagement while supporting visual learning of letters and sounds.
Can I pause or cancel anytime?
Yes. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time. There’s no commitment and no guilt.
Can I teach my child to read without an app?
Yes. Parents can teach reading at home using letter sounds, blending, and meaning. Many families choose Celeste Learns because it provides structure and consistency without added pressure.
What ages is Celeste Learns designed for?
Celeste Learns is designed for children under 5 years old, when language and reading foundations develop most rapidly. Older children may still enjoy the program, but the content is intentionally built for early learners.
Does my child need to know the alphabet before starting?
No. Early reading begins with letter sounds, not letter names. Celeste Learns starts with sounds and gradually builds toward blending and meaning in a developmentally appropriate way.
How long should my child watch each day?
Each video is less than seven minutes long, so just a few calm minutes a day is enough. Short, consistent routines support learning better than long or infrequent sessions. Your child watches the same video everyday for 30 days before moving on to the next video.
When is the best time to watch?
Quiet moments work best, such as after a nap, during snack time, or in short transitions like car rides or grocery trips.
Do I need to teach along with the video?
No. The videos are designed to work on their own. You’re welcome to reinforce learning naturally throughout the day, but no teaching or preparation is required.
What if my child seems bored or uninterested?
That’s often a sign of familiarity, not failure. Repetition strengthens memory and confidence, even when learning looks quiet or passive.
Can my child watch a video for longer than 30 days or repeat a block?
Yes. Every child learns at their own pace. You can stay on a video or repeat a block for as long as your child needs before moving forward. There’s no rush and no “right” timeline.
Why does content unlock every 30 days?
Monthly unlocks give children time to repeat, absorb, and build confidence before new material is introduced. The structure supports learning without pressure.
What can parents expect after the first three months?
Many children begin experimenting with sounding out simple words and connecting them to meaning. Progress varies, and listening and recognition often come before spoken or visible reading.
What if my child isn’t speaking yet?
That’s okay. Early reading development starts with listening, sound recognition, and familiarity. Every child progresses differently.
Is Celeste Learns appropriate for children with dyslexia or learning differences?
Celeste Learns is not a clinical intervention, but it incorporates research-informed methods that support early reading foundations. We continue to grow the program and welcome parent questions.
